Spotlights presents My People
It’s Passover: the biggest night of the Jewish calendar. It also happens to be the night that Asha, the youngest of the Lewin-Cohen children is coming home from a psychiatric ward having being hospitalised following a massive, self-destructive bender. Debra has somehow managed to get all three of her children together for the first time in years and, miraculously, everything seems to be going to plan - that is, until her ex-husband asks her for a favour. ‘My People’ is a dark, proudly-Jewish comedy centred around the relationship between Asha and her mother Debra, exploring the complexity of the transition from childhood to adulthood for mother and daughter alike.
- Contains strong language and sex references.
