Music Theatre Bristol presents A Little Night Music
Sondheim's musical examines the trials and tribulations of love, romance and marriage. It follows the story of Desiree Armfeldt and her quest to rekindle an old flame (Fredrik Egerman, who has since married the young, naive Anne). However, being under the watchful eye of her austere mother, with much interference from her current lover, the pompous Count Carl Magnus, things run far from smoothly. There is a wealth of fantastically drawn characters, a wonderful plot, some brilliant songs (including 'Send in the Clowns') and a huge amount of comedy. Alongside all of this, the show manages to retain an innate sense of style, beauty and pathos.
