Dramsoc presents Spring Awakening
"You made this world, then I’m punished for living in it?" ‘Spring Awakening’ follows 8 teenagers during 2012, as they attempt to navigate the complexity of adolescence and difficult relationships with an older generation who doesn’t understand them. Adapted from Frank Wedekind’s classic play, Anya Reiss’ innovative update claims that sexual oppression, and the ignorance of sex itself, are not just hallmarks of a bygone era. The current void of sexual education, both at school and in the home, has been filled by a library of porn any teenager curious enough can access, begging the question: Has the attitude to the sexual education of young people really changed?
